Abstract

This article aims to provide an overview of the transmission channels of the eco-nomic impact of the health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic to Latin America and the Caribbean external trade. Three channels of commercial conta-gion are examined: demand, terms of trade and supply, identifying the levels of vulnerability of the region in each one. Finally, an analysis is made of the trade policies that have been applied in response to the health crisis both in the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean and in the rest of the world which could affect the region.
