When innovation requires change: keys to managing organizational transformation

Abstract

This article addresses change and innovation as central axes of management in contemporary organizations operating in contexts characterized by high complexity, dynamism, and uncertainty. It develops a theoretical and conceptual study based on the critical and integrated analysis of classical and contemporary contributions to organizational change, resistance, organizational learning, and innovation. The findings suggest that change is a multidimensional process encompassing structural, cultural, human, and strategic dimensions. Resistance emerges as an inherent phenomenon, and its proper management is crucial to the success of the process. Furthermore, organizational learning is positioned as a key articulating mechanism between change and innovation. In this framework, innovation is consolidated as a strategic driver of organizational transformation, whose integrated management alongside change and learning proves decisive for organizational sustainability and competitiveness.
