This paper consists in an introduction to the debate between Car- men Vázquez, Florencia Rimoldi and Rachel Herdy about different models for the justification of expert evidence. Based on these models’ grounds, it is possible to assess which procedural tools should be enacted by the legislator and the type of practice that must be implemented regarding this type of evidence, in the context of the judicial process. By way of a conclusion, I will point out some pending reflections regarding these points.
