Abstract

I will argue that if the notion of law is understood by reference to the idea of subjective right in the legal sense of the term, the notion of social rights is a contradiction in terms. If we want to avoid this conclusion, we must rescue an alternative way of understanding the political concept of rights. The lines that follow should be understood as (the beginning of) a contribution in that regard.
