Abstract

In what follows, I would like to make some remarks on the replies of Carlos Bernal and Juan Antonio Cruz. Both Bernal and Cruz believe that it is possible to use the language of Law without being constrained to accept its structural restrictions. At one level, therefore, the answer is nothing less than Margaret Thatcher's: "there is no such thing as a free lunch." Then I will refer to the way in which Roberto Gargarella's contribution connects the discussion on social rights with the discussion on the relationship between law and politics.
