Abstract

The article focuses on two related problems, namely the problems of the value and insufficiency of coherence as a standard of rational justification. On the value of coherence, it seems to me that the general arguments presented by Amaya, in particular the epistemic argument, are not sufficient to justify his conclusion. Moreover, there are arguments that specifically, in particular in the realm of practical reason, successfully justify the value of coherence as a criterion of rationality.
