This article explores and discusses second-degree direct intent, which, unlike other concepts in crime theory, has not generated much discussion in criminal dogmatics. Criminal dogmatics would be enriched if it gave greater importance to the difference between necessary means and necessary consequences. These concepts are useful for clearing up some of the ambiguities that underlie the dogmatic treatment of second-degree direct intent and the idea of necessary connections. In the text, these concepts are explored in greater depth.
